Domestic Russian train tickets now available to book 90 days before travel!
Posted by Andrew Glenister on 11 December 2017 09:04 AM

Russian Railways have announced that as of Sunday 10th December, rail tickets for journeys within Russia are bookable 90 days before the date of departure. Previously it was only possible to book tickets up to 60 days before travelling.

We at Real Russia feel that this is an exciting announcement, as it means that it is even easier to plan your Russian rail journeys in plenty of time. And we would recommend that you do just that, as once the tickets are on sale, a dynamic pricing policy applies, meaning that the more seats that are sold for any given train, the more expensive those remaining tickets will become.

While this new booking window will cover the vast majority of domestic rail tickets, there may be exceptions. We are currently confirming these with the train operators.

International tickets are not affected by this change, so they will retain their current booking windows. More information on this can be found here.

As this announcement has been made with little warning, you will notice that our terms and conditions, alongside other content, may still refer to a 60-day booking window for Russian domestic rail tickets. We are currently working to update all references to this with new content and documentation. In particular, please take this announcement as notice that our terms and conditions are being updated to take account of the 90-day booking window for domestic tickets. Further information on this will be made available shortly.
