Is Real Russia registered with ABTA or ATOL?
Posted by on 19 February 2018 05:01 PM

As a UK-registered travel company, we are bound by UK and EU law, legally obliging us to secure customer pre-payments and deposits from general funds. As a company we have an independent client account in which such funds are held until the service is delivered, which complies with current legislation.

ATOL, and in essence ABTA, membership is mandatory for companies that provide flight ticketing as part of their services, and, as Real Russia is a specialist land only agency there is no requirement to join such a body. The two principle reasons we choose not to is that as a company our policies are equal to or, in many cases, superior to the minimum code of practice outlined by such bodies, and the additional costs levied by membership would add up to 4% to our costs, without any benefit to our customers.

In addition, Real Russia manages its travel logistics through a wholly owned subsidiary, East West Link, a fully licensed Russian tour operator, that not only services Real Russia, but also many other travel operators in the UK and globally. Any funds deposited with this company are protected by a bond to ensure that the services are delivered.

Finally, Real Russia has been in business for over 10 years, serving tens of thousands of satisfied customers a year and have become a multiple award-winning business by focusing on competitive pricing and high quality customer service.

If you choose not to use Real Russia for your services, we respect your decision and are more than happy to direct you to one of our many partners and organisations that may be able to assist you.
