We can now happily confirm that it is official – if you have a World Cup Fan ID, you can enter Russia visa free until the end of 2018.
What does this mean?
If you have a 2018 World Cup Fan ID, you will be able to visit Russia as many times as you like, for as long as you like, without a visa until 31st December 2018. Until then, you will need only your Fan ID and your passport to visit Russia!
There were rumours that this may extend to the families of Fan ID holders, but unfortunately this is not the case. Anyone travelling with a Fan ID holder will have to follow the usual visa rules. To find out if a visa would be required, click here.
What about registration?
If you travel to Russia using a Fan ID, you will have to register within seven working days of your arrival in each Russian city you visit. Don’t worry though, the process and rules are the same as for registering a Russian visa. See our online registration guide for more information.
Your Fan ID is now more than a souvenir of your World Cup memories; it makes accessing Russia cheaper and more flexible, allowing you to return and see the awe-inspiring sights you missed during the 2018 World Cup!
